First week in Ireland

Filed under: eire — SiKing @ 7:21 pm

So it finally rained enough to make for a pretty shitty weekend. But I went to check out the sights anyway. There are several lighthouses in the Dublin bay. I wanted to check out the North Bull Lighthouse this weekend, however, I only got as far as the Statue. The rest of the trip is pretty much under water, as can be seen from this satellite image – the lighthouse is the dot in the middle of the water. The whole thing was a very nice walk along about a kilometre of beach though.

After one week in Dublin, here are some random observations.

  • Lidl je lepší, všude.
  • In Ireland, pedestrian crossing on a green light is only a suggestion. In fact, some intersections don’t even have lights for pedestrians!
  • The most annoying tourists in the world are not American teenagers, but French teenagers.
  • Yea, living in Ireland is going to be freakin’ expensive, but not impossible.
